Dr. Salvacion R. Gatchalian was a highly respected Pediatrician and Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist, known for her tireless advocacy for vaccination and public health. She served as a Senior Consultant at The Medical City, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City, and was a Fellow of the Philippine Pediatric Society and the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, as well as President of the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination. A leading expert and member of the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization, Dr. Gatchalian tragically passed away in March 2020, leaving an indelible mark on the Philippine medical community.
